FAQ

  • What is archival / conservation framing?

Archival (or conservation) framing uses acid-free materials, UV-protective glass, and reversible mounting techniques to protect artwork from fading, yellowing, and deterioration over time. This level of framing is recommended for original artwork, photographs, historical documents, and sentimental pieces you want to preserve for decades.

  • Do I need to know exactly what I want before coming in?

Not at all. Most clients come in with their piece but without a final design in mind. We guide you through frame styles, mat options, glass types, and mounting methods to create the best result for your artwork, space, and budget.

  • How long does custom framing take?

Typical turnaround time for custom framing is 2-3 weeks. Handcrafted and specialty framing usually takes 4-6 weeks.

  • How much does custom framing cost?

Pricing depends on size, frame selection, matting, glass type, and mounting method. The best way to receive an accurate estimate is to bring your piece into the shop for a quote. We work with a wide range of budgets and will always present multiple options.

  • Do you only frame artwork?

No. We frame artwork, photographs, mirrors, textiles, documents, memorabilia, jerseys, objects, and three-dimensional pieces. If it can be displayed, we can usually frame it.

  • Do you frame oversized or unusual pieces?

Yes. We regularly handle oversized artwork, panoramic pieces, mirrors, and specialty projects with custom dimensions.

  • Will my artwork be damaged during framing?

No. All professional framing is done with safe handling methods and proper mounting techniques. For archival projects, we only use reversible materials that do not damage the artwork.

  • Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are not required. Walk-ins are welcome. If you’re bringing a large collection or a complex project, scheduling ahead is recommended.

  • Do you work with interior designers?

Yes. We collaborate with interior designers, collectors, businesses, and galleries on custom framing solutions for residential and commercial projects.
